What are the link rods for?

They brace the splitter plate against the bumper. A plate projecting that far does not support itself on the apron-edge fixing alone. The rods' length also lets you set the angle of attack.

Is the plate painted?

No, it comes unpainted. On this part that is an advantage - scratches after kerb contact hardly show. We do not paint ourselves, but we do the fitting.

Does the splitter fit the RS3 8V facelift?

No. This part belongs on the pre-facelift front of the 2015 and 2016 model years. We stock a separate version for the facelift.

What happens if I ground it?

The plate is bolted on and individually replaceable - that is exactly what the design is for. It is unbolted and replaced without affecting the bumper.
