Does dirt or road salt collect behind the side skirt trims?

Some road grime ends up there, as with any add-on. What matters is that the trim lies with no open gap so no salt water stands. In winter, run the water jet through from below when washing and it is not an issue.

Do I have to change anything on the standard side skirt?

No. The cup trim is placed onto the standard side skirt; the standard part stays on the car and unchanged.

How do I tell whether the V.3 is the right version for me?

By the edge line - technically the V.1 to V.4 are equivalent and sit in the same place. Send us a side photo of your M2 G87 and we will say which line suits your wheel size and ride height.
