Description

The FLOW DOWN® magnetic license plate holder for the BMW M2 F87 replaces the original screw mount with a clean magnetic system. The distinctive M2 front is showcased without a bulky holder – the license plate can be removed in seconds for photoshoots, track days, or car meets.

High-performance neodymium magnets, tested up to 300 km/h and proven in practical tests on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with racing driver Loris Scheider. Magnets and manufacturing made in Germany.

Material

High-performance neodymium magnets in a robust plastic housing. Weather-resistant and tailored to the bumper contour of the M2 F87.

Usage

Screw the magnets onto the bumper, stick the magnet plates onto the license plate – done. Simply attach the license plate and remove it again if needed.

Optional installation is also possible at FLOW DOWN® in Essen.

Suitable for the following license plates

Suitable for German metal license plates and 3D license plates. Also fits all common EU license plates (including Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Poland) as well as license plates from the UK, USA, and Canada.

Note: One set contains mounts for one license plate. Two sets are required for front and rear.

Approval Notes

The magnetic license plate holder is registration-free. Material and practical tests are documented, and compliance with §12 FZV when used properly is recorded in the enclosed Technical Product Data Sheet.

Yes. The M2 F87, the M2 Competition and the M2 CS use the same front bumper plate mounting - the holder fits all three.
Yes. The CS has larger air intakes, but the central plate mounting point is identical to the M2 Competition - the holder fits without modification.
Yes. The holder is tested to 300 km/h and designed for high longitudinal and lateral acceleration. Even driven hard on track the plate stays securely in place.
No. The holder sits at the factory position of the original plate holder and is therefore outside the sensors' range - cruise control and front camera keep working as before.
As a rule the magnets are bolted to the factory mounting points. Where there is no pilot hole, the screw goes straight into the bumper and forms a small threaded seat.
In a classic cloth car wash it is worth taking the plate off briefly. At a self-service bay with a pressure washer it can stay fitted.
