The Audi SThe 3 8Y sedan comes standard with 310 hp from the proven 2.0 TSI engine – but Audi has deliberately kept the sound level down for this sporty sedan. Those who prefer the DTM look of the SAnyone wanting to combine the 3 8Y with a sound that truly matches its performance will find it hard to beat a GRAIL valve-controlled exhaust system. Powerful 2.0 TSI sound in Sport mode, crisp backfires during load changes, and subtle in Comfort mode.

Handmade in Germany from L304 stainless steel. ECE type approval – therefore registration-free in all EU vehicles with standard approval. Ready to drive immediately after installation, without a TÜV appointment or registration bureaucracy.

Flap control – via the Audi driving modes

The GRAIL system takes over the factory-installed Audi flap control of your vehicle. S3 8Y complete. Specifically, this means: no additional remote control, no module, no modifications to the interior. The flaps react to your vehicle's driving modes. S3, exactly as intended from the factory.

• In Dynamic mode: Flaps fully open – full GRAIL sound
• In Comfort or Efficiency mode: flaps closed – discreet and ECE-compliant

Even if the system is technically identical, you must select the version that matches your model year – if only for the sake of correct document assignment. Tailpipe variants

• Double oval (170 × 107 mm) – brushed stainless steel: Classic-sporty design, two wide oval tailpipes, OEM-Plus look
• Double oval (170 × 107 mm) – Black: A subtle appearance, ideal in combination with a black package and black rims.
• 4-flow round (100 mm) – brushed stainless steel: Four round tailpipes, sporty rear appearance
• 4-flow round (100 mm) – Black: Four round tailpipes in matte black, clear tuning look.
• 4-flow round (100 mm) – Carbon: Four round tailpipes with genuine carbon fiber covering, premium look

Downpipe connection – stock or HJS

• A series: Standard choice for Audi S3 8Y without downpipe modification. Direct connection to the factory downpipe.
• To HJS: For drivers with an installed HJS downpipe (typical for Stage 2 / Stage 3 setups). The GRAIL is manufactured with a compatible interface for HJS.

Material & workmanship

LMade entirely of 304 stainless steel, with CNC-precision machined components. The silencers were specially tuned in the GRAIL sound lab for the Audi 2.0 TSI engine. S3 8Y tuned. Flow-optimized pipe routing minimizes exhaust backpressure, and the solid stainless steel flaps switch precisely. The carbon fiber tailpipe version uses high-quality, genuine carbon fiber sleeves – not imitations.

• 50% deposit upon order placement – we will then order the system from GRAIL
• As soon as the system arrives at our workshop, we will arrange an installation date with you.
• You only pay the remaining amount after the installation has been completed – not before.

Important: The deposit payment option applies exclusively to bookings including installation and is only available via prepayment/bank transfer. PayPal or other payment methods are not accepted for this service.

Swiss suitability assessment

Upon request, you can receive a Swiss suitability assessment for the GRAIL system for an additional fee. If interested, simply contact support.

Not suitable for: Audi S3 Sportback 8Y (separate product in the shop, different rear geometry), Audi RS3 8Y (5-cylinder engine, separate system), Audi S3 8V (predecessor, separate system). Separate GRAIL systems are available for each of these models.

Information on admission

Registration-free thanks to ECE type approval – applies to all EU vehicles with standard registration. For imported vehicles with a different operating permit, please check registration requirements before ordering. The ECE type approval certificate should be kept in the vehicle's glove compartment.
